Overview
This notice covers the GooferPlaces website and the GooferPlaces Relocation and GooferPlaces Holidays iOS apps. The website uses two distinct forms of analytics: optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and privacy-focused first-party operational analytics delivered through Cloudflare. The website and recommendation APIs run on Cloudflare infrastructure, which processes requests to deliver and protect the service.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, account identifiers, user_id values or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.
Native iOS apps
The native Relocation and Holidays apps do not require an account. Saved preferences, shortlisted places, comparison choices and user-entered budget estimates are stored on the device using Apple platform storage. You can clear individual saved choices in the app; deleting the app removes its app-owned local storage according to iOS behavior.
When you request online recommendations, the app sends the selections needed to calculate the response, such as priorities, geographic scope, dates and supported activity or environment choices. Private departure text is not included in shared-plan links. Our application code uses recommendation request bodies to return the requested result and does not store those bodies or selections after the response.
The current native release does not include Google Analytics, Google Mobile Ads or an advertising-consent SDK, and it does not request ads or send application-owned analytics events. The website analytics and cookie controls described below do not run inside the native apps. Cloudflare still processes ordinary technical request information—including IP address, timestamps, requested endpoint, response status and device or network headers—as needed to deliver, secure and observe the APIs.
The apps provide evidence-based planning support, not live bookings. They do not need your name, email address, telephone number, Apple Account credentials, precise device location, contacts, photos, health data or payment information to produce recommendations.
Google Analytics 4
Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland we load GA4 by default; within those regions it loads only after consent. GA4 is configured using measurement ID G-NR0FCYEEM7. We use it to understand aggregate traffic, page use and site performance so we can improve content and product decisions.
Information GA4 may collect
- Pages viewed and the page title.
- Approximate location derived by Google from network information.
- Browser, device, operating-system and language information.
- Referring site, session information and interaction timestamps.
- Random identifiers stored in
_gacookies after consent.
Consent Mode defaults deny advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization and analytics storage in the EEA, UK and Switzerland until consent. These defaults are granted elsewhere, subject to your choices and the applicable Google consent message. Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled. Page URLs sent by our implementation exclude query strings and fragments to reduce the risk of accidental personal-data collection.
Google acts as a service provider for this analytics processing and may process data on infrastructure outside your country. Learn more in Google’s privacy policy.
Google AdSense, cookies and third-party vendors
GooferPlaces includes Google AdSense publisher verification and its advertising script. Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies or similar storage to deliver, measure and personalise advertising according to your consent and applicable regional rules. The Google Privacy & messaging (Funding Choices) banner presents the applicable choices in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Advertising and analytics consent remain denied there until accepted.

Cloudflare and first-party analytics
Cloudflare provides hosting, security, content delivery, request metrics and Worker observability for GooferPlaces. Like any hosting and security provider, Cloudflare processes technical request information such as IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, response status, device or browser headers and security signals as needed to deliver and protect the website.
Separately, our own first-party analytics script sends limited events to analytics.gooferplaces.com. It records the event type, page path, link or action label, referring hostname, page language, a random per-tab session value and numeric performance values. The script does not use cookies and does not send the visitor’s IP address or user-agent string in its event body. The receiving Cloudflare Worker is designed not to store request identifiers, IP addresses, cookies or user-agent strings in its custom analytics record.
We use these first-party events for aggregate product and performance measurement, including page views, ranking-tool use and outbound-link activity. They are treated as essential, privacy-minimised operational analytics and remain active regardless of the optional GA4 choice.
Retention
GA4 user-level and event-level analytics data is retained for no longer than 14 months under our intended property policy, after which Google deletes it according to its retention process. Google’s standard aggregated reports may remain available beyond the user-level retention period. We periodically review the GA4 property setting to keep it at or below this limit.
First-party event records stored in Cloudflare Workers Logs are retained for up to 7 days depending on the Cloudflare plan. If Workers Analytics Engine is enabled, its event data is retained for up to 3 months. Cloudflare’s aggregate Worker request metrics may be available for up to 3 months. Security and operational records may have different short retention periods where necessary to investigate abuse or service incidents.
Your consent choices
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before Google Analytics loads. Elsewhere Analytics is allowed by default, and you can reject it through Privacy choices. We save the choice in your browser’s local storage so we can remember it; this preference is not used for tracking.
Select at the bottom of any page to review, change or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent immediately changes the GA4 consent state to denied and removes accessible GooferPlaces GA cookies from the current domain. It does not delete analytics already processed by Google. You can also clear this site’s browser data to remove the saved preference.
Rejecting or withdrawing GA4 consent does not restrict access to GooferPlaces.
